Not least of, Apple are not positioning this as a gaming device. But from now on everything will be measured against it. Sure, this product is a year off delivery and five off being at a reasonable price point. No mention of ‘The Metaverse’, that meaningless term that needs to die. The very best thing about Apple Vision Pro? Put differently, they let others do brute force trial and error development work and then take the bits and pieces that work well and bring them all elegantly back together like some sort of technological kintsugi. ![]() The old adage says: "The best way to predict the future is to create it." But so few of us, including myself are capable of creating the future, so the second best method is to look at the history of those who have been creating it (hint: for consumer tech it is Apple all the way down) and follow the trend lines of their work, not the headlines of sites like this.Īpple, historically has led by following. I am looking at this to point to the many underlying clues to the future of #spatialcomputing in the design of this device, especially in the UX design. It has more to do with the fact that Apple can see the writing on the (virtual) wall: AI is already so integrated into day-to-day tools that, as a blanket term, it is losing its potency and allure. Some people say it is because Siri isn't as good as ChatGPT, but I don't buy that. At this point, the entire internet knows where I stand on the term #metaverse.īut it is worth mentioning another term that was not mentioned even one time at the #Apple WWDC: #AI
